Tell us about your dog.
Amber is a rescued pit mix who looks tough but is really a big softie. She’ll roll over for belly rubs and smother you with kisses the second you approach. She’s pure love wrapped in muscle and snores.

How did your dog come into your life, and how has your relationship grown over time?
Amber came from Big Dog Ranch, scared and curled up in her crate. My son reached in, and she slowly licked his hand. That was it—she was ours. Since then, she’s come out of her shell completely. Watching her go from timid to trusting has been one of the most rewarding parts of having her.

What’s your dog’s quirkiest habit or personality trait?
Amber nudges you for what she wants, then barks until you give in—I never last long ignoring her. She also humps pillows, but only when guests arrive, like her own funny way to say “hello.”

How do you juggle your work or personal life with your dog?
Working from home with Amber is easy—she naps at my feet, snoring on Zoom calls. Weekend trips are harder since finding care is tough and costly, but she’s worth it.

What is your favorite pet charity or rescue organization and why?
My favorite rescue organization is the Big Dog Ranch. That’s where I got Amber from and my other dog Apollo who passed away this past November.

What has been the greatest blessing your dog has brought to your life?
Amber’s biggest gift is her personality and companionship. She keeps me laughing; barking at absolutely nothing on walks, charging at me to play only to flop down and do nothing. Life with her is never boring. She’s a constant reminder to enjoy the little, weird moments.

What charities are you involved in and why?
There are many… FLITE Center, VITA NOVA, American Cancer Society (I am a survivor), but Junior Achievement of South Florida is the charity I am most passionate about. They focus on teaching our future leaders about financial literacy and entrepreneurship. I think about the different things I may have done as a child if I had JA. Don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty happy with where I am and what I have done, but I think of how I could have done things differently. Plus, these are the future leaders of our country, and we all know we can use some good ones!

What single accomplishment are you most proud of?
That’s easy, my son! I had an uninvolved father. He was a great provider, I never did without, but he wasn’t involved with anything I did. I took the opposite approach with my son; I was overinvolved with everything. Every chance I had to do something with him or try and teach him something, I took advantage. He’s now a sophomore at UCF; I look at what he’s doing, and I feel nothing but pride and love. I am beyond proud of him for what he’s accomplished, and I am looking forward to seeing what is next for him!

What’s the most important business lesson you’ve learned?
Communication is KEY, and confrontation is GOOD if done the right way. By nature, I avoid confrontation at all costs. I look back at my life (not just business) and think if I had confronted and communicated in certain situations, my life may have turned out a little differently. Again, nothing wrong with where I am, but maybe an easier path could have been taken.

What is something about you that may surprise people?
I have an alter ego called “Headbanger Mosh”! Yes, I am a former World Wrestling Federation (Entertainment) Tag Team Champion. I have been a professional wrestler for over 30 years now. Being in the ring is my “happy place.” I feel because of this, I have the greatest ice breaker in the world!
